Our holiday tradition returns with a new chapter. Handel’s Messiah has always carried the spirit of opera within it, filled with love, loss, struggle, and redemption. This year we continue to lean into that drama, shaping the work as a journey that speaks to our time.

We are thrilled to welcome a new conductor to the podium, alongside an expanded Opera Laguna Chorus made up of extraordinary singers who call Southern California home. Familiar soloists return, joined by fresh voices whose artistry has graced stages across the world.

The evening includes choreography by Kia Smith and the acclaimed South Chicago Dance Theatre. Their movement brings Handel’s music to life in ways that are both surprising and deeply moving, creating an experience that is as theatrical as it is uplifting.

We invite you to celebrate the season with us through this beloved masterpiece, and to feel the joy of Messiah as if for the very first time.
