We partnered with Shimmerleaf Illustration in a close collaboration that began with a small set of silent film posters from the years when Laguna Beach was coming into its own as an artists’ colony. The references include Greed (1924), Between Friends (1924), and The Dance of Death (1919). This era overlaps with the founding of Laguna Playhouse in 1920 and the rise of plein air painting along our coves, so the visual language feels native to Laguna’s early cultural life. Shimmerleaf has honored the spirit of those vintage lithographs while giving them a fresh clarity. We are proud to share this art as part of our season and our story.
